Some lobby groups, human and civil rights foundation’s founders have undergone tremendous pain, torture, arrest, and others went to exile. Although change is inevitable, some governments find it extremely difficult to either embrace or accept change.
Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin are the perfect duo founders of the Larkin & Lacey Frontera Fund who beat the aforementioned struggles. At the time they were working for the Village Voice Media and framed for violating secrecy laws. They now advocate for the civil, human and migrant rights.
Preceding the establishment of the Larkin & Lacey Frontera Fund, was a grand Jury Subpoenas in Arizona that targeted media personnel such as editors, writers, and journalists who gave diversionary views that somewhat differed with the United State Constitution.
The arrest triggered a public outcry, in 24 hours their charges were dropped and realized. This took place sometime in 2007, but by 2013, Lacey & Larkin received $3.75 million as compensation for a baseless arrest. As a result thereof, they used this fund to establish the Lacey & Larkin Frontera Fund the following year. The foundation would support and finance Latin- American groups in the state of Arizona and the Hispanic community, addressing issues of human, civil and immigrant rights together with an emphasis on civic participation and freedom of expression.
The Lacey & Larkin Frontera Fund disburses money out to fund the No More Deaths which is a motivation to end untimely death and inhumane suffering. Their operational based is spread out across the Arizona State extending to the Mexican Border- la linea fronteriza. Read more: Jim Larkin | Crunchbase and Michael Larcey | Twitter
